The first idea.
AQUA began with a simple observation: the patient experience inside dental clinics had not kept pace with the medicine itself. The technology had advanced, the instruments had become more precise, yet the feeling on arrival was still tense — a rushed front desk, a narrow corridor, the chemical air, and a long wait without explanation.
Dr. Mohamed Bamashmous — orthodontist trained at Boston University and chair of Dental Public Health at King Abdulaziz University — decided with his sister Dr. Laila Bamashmous (American Board–certified orthodontist, Boston University) and two close friends from the Aref family, Dr. Jamil Aref (cosmetic dentist, UCLA) and his brother Dr. Jehad Aref (general dentist), to build something different.
Not a bigger clinic, and not merely a more luxurious one — but a different experience altogether: a seafront address, an interior that feels closer to a hotel than a hospital, Finnish Planmeca equipment, and a consulting team that works as one unit rather than as individuals in parallel. Four founders who treat their own patients here every day.
"We want every patient to feel like a guest, not a case."
That sentence became the brand promise — A Belief Ends With a Smile. It is not a marketing line but a working standard against which every decision is measured. The choice of materials, the arrangement of the rooms, the music in the corridors, the way we greet each guest: all of it is tested against the same question — does this person feel like a guest, or like a patient?
