FAQ

Everything patients ask us before booking.

Honest answers about cost, insurance, treatments, and the AQUA experience — sourced from real patient questions over 5 years of practice.

Pricing & payment

How much does a consultation at AQUA Dent cost?
The initial consultation includes a full exam and a written treatment plan, ranging 250–300 SAR. For exact pricing use our cost calculator or contact us.
Are the prices on the cost calculator final?
No. The calculator shows an approximate range based on Jeddah 2026 averages. The actual price for your case is determined at consultation after a full exam and imaging, then provided in writing.
Do you offer installment plans?
Yes. Installments via Tabby, Tamara, Madfu, and Baseeta. We also offer in-house installment plans for longer treatments like orthodontics and full-arch implants.
What payment methods do you accept?
Direct: Cash, Mada, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay. Installments: Tabby, Tamara, Madfu, Baseeta. Full details on Payment Methods page.
Do you offer a discount for cash payment?
No cash discounts on individual treatments. For larger cases (full Invisalign, All-on-4, smile design packages), bundled pricing may apply — all clearly written in the treatment plan.
Can I get a price estimate before booking?
Yes. Our cost calculator gives an approximate range by procedure. The final price requires a full exam and imaging — a signed written quote follows.

Dental insurance

Do you accept dental insurance?
We don't bill insurers directly. We do prepare all paperwork in your insurer's format (Bupa, Tawuniya, MedGulf, and others) so you can file a reimbursement claim yourself. Most insurers cover 30–80% depending on the plan.
How long does an insurance reimbursement claim take?
After submitting documents to your insurer, claims typically take 2–4 weeks to process. The full step-by-step claim filing guide is in our Insurance Guide page.

Treatments & procedures

How much does a single tooth implant cost?
Implant cost has two parts: the surgical placement, then the crown on top. Pricing varies by implant type, crown type, and whether bone grafting or a sinus lift is needed. The first consultation includes a CBCT scan and a written treatment plan. For approximate ranges use our cost calculator, or contact us for current pricing.
How long does the implant process take?
3 to 6 months for a single implant: one month for planning and placement, 3–4 months for healing and osseointegration, then crown placement. Same-day implants are available for select cases after exam.
How much does a full Invisalign treatment cost?
Pricing starts by case type: Invisalign Express for shorter cases (3–6 months), or Invisalign Comprehensive for full treatment (over 6 months). The cost includes all follow-up visits and retainers. For an approximate range use our cost calculator, and for an exact price book an orthodontic consultation.
How much does a single veneer cost?
Porcelain veneers start at 3,000 SAR per tooth at AQUA Dent. A full smile package (front 6) or full smile design is priced as a bundle after case diagnosis. For an approximate range use our cost calculator.
How long do veneers last?
Quality porcelain veneers last 15–20 years with proper care. Direct composite veneers last 5–7 years. Wearing a night guard and avoiding hard items (ice, pen biting) extends their life.
Is root canal treatment painful?
No. Done under full local anesthesia — you feel nothing. Post-treatment discomfort (3–5 days) is managed with simple painkillers. The painful tooth before treatment is what scares people — the procedure itself ends the pain.
Is microscope-assisted root canal worth the extra cost?
For complex cases (multi-canal molars, retreatment, curved canals): yes, it doubles success rates. For simple cases (front tooth): the difference is limited. Dr. Obadah Austah determines this at exam.
Does orthodontics weaken teeth?
No. Research in the American Journal of Orthodontics shows orthodontics does not affect tooth strength or longevity when supervised by a board-certified specialist. Good hygiene during treatment is the decisive factor.
Is All-on-4 worth the cost?
For patients who lost all or most teeth in a jaw, All-on-4 is far better than removable dentures: fixed, preserves bone, gives 90%+ chewing strength. Cost (26,000–32,000 SAR/arch) seems high but is less than implanting each tooth separately.
How long is recovery after dental implant surgery?
Immediate symptoms (swelling, mild discomfort) resolve in 3–5 days. Full osseointegration takes 3–4 months, then the final crown is placed.
Does lingual (inside) orthodontics affect speech?
Temporarily yes. During the first 2 weeks some sounds (S, T, D) are affected, then the tongue adapts and speech returns to normal. Most patients notice no difference after 3–4 weeks.
Can I eat normally with braces?
With metal/ceramic: avoid hard foods (nuts, ice, whole apples); cut fruits/vegetables into small pieces. With Invisalign: no restrictions — you remove the aligners to eat.
Does at-home whitening work as well as in-clinic?
Final results are similar but speed differs. In-clinic whitening (60–90 min session) gives instant results. Take-home tray whitening takes 2–3 weeks but costs less. The combination package is best.
Is teeth whitening safe?
Yes, professional in-clinic whitening is safe on healthy teeth. It doesn't work on crowns or fillings. We offer 3 options: in-clinic laser session, take-home tray system, or the combined package. All require a cleaning first.

Where is AQUA Dent located in Jeddah?
At The Headquarters Business Park, West Tower, 10th floor, Unit 1006, Corniche Road, Jeddah 23511. With an internal 2,000-space parking garage.

Health tourism

Do you treat patients from outside Jeddah?
Yes. We offer a "Visitor Welcome" package that includes tight scheduling, nearby hotel suggestions, and remote follow-up after treatment. Our health tourism team handles all logistics.
How many days do I need in Jeddah for full implant treatment?
For single implant: 2 visits (4 days for first, 2 days for second after 3–4 months). For All-on-4: 5–7 days for surgery + temporary bridge, then 3-day visit after 3–4 months for final bridge.
Do you help with hotel and transportation?
Yes. Our health tourism coordinator suggests nearby hotels (Ritz, Park Hyatt, Mövenpick — all 5–10 min away). We provide airport pickup for major surgery patients. Hotel/transport invoices are separate from treatment.
What languages do your doctors speak?
Arabic and English at every level. Most of our consultants trained in the US (UCLA, Boston University, University of Florida), so English consultations are at near-native level.

Children & pediatric dentistry

When should I bring my child for their first dental visit?
When the first tooth appears or before age 1, whichever comes first — per AAPD recommendation. The first visit is introductory to make the child enjoy dental visits.
When should I bring my child for an orthodontic screening?
Age 7 per the American Association of Orthodontists. Early intervention (Phase I) reduces the need for complex treatments later and often avoids jaw surgery.
Do you extract baby teeth that don't fall on their own?
Only when necessary. Baby teeth hold space for permanent teeth. Early extraction may cause crowding later. Dr. Laila Bamashmous evaluates each case with X-rays to determine the need.
Is local anesthesia safe for children in dentistry?
Yes. Local anesthesia (Lidocaine) is very safe and has been used in pediatric dentistry for 50+ years. The dose is calculated precisely based on the child's weight and age.
How often does my child need teeth cleaning?
Every 6 months for healthy children. Children with frequent cavities or those wearing braces may need cleaning every 3–4 months. Regular checkups matter more than treatment — they catch problems early.
Do you treat children with special needs?
Yes. We have a dedicated quiet room and team trained for children with autism spectrum, ADHD, and Down syndrome. We allocate longer visit time and can arrange introductory visits to meet the team and see the environment before any procedure.

Sterilization & safety

Is your clinic accredited by an official body?
Yes. AQUA Dent Clinics is accredited by the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI), valid 2025-01-27 to 2028-01-26 — same evaluation framework as JCI internationally.
How do you ensure instrument sterilization?
Each instrument goes through: ultrasonic cleaning → sealed pouch packaging → Class B Autoclave sterilization (gold standard) → weekly biological spore testing. Pouches are opened in front of you at the chair.
Are handpieces sterilized between each patient?
Yes, without exception. Handpieces are hollow internally and only Class B Autoclave sterilizes them. We have enough backup handpieces so appointments don't delay. We don't just wipe handpieces — we fully sterilize them.
What about the dental chair water?
Dental chair water passes through fine filters + continuous chemical treatment to prevent bacterial buildup. Monthly bacterial colony tests ensure it stays below CDC standard (under 500 CFU/mL).
Can I see the sterilization room before booking?
Absolutely. We welcome a short visit to see treatment and sterilization rooms yourself before any procedure. Call to schedule a suitable time.

Pain & anesthesia

Will dental procedures hurt?
All procedures (fillings, root canals, extractions, implants) are done under full local anesthesia — you feel no pain during the session. Post-anesthesia discomfort is usually mild and controlled with simple painkillers.
How do you handle anxious patients?
We work at a slow pace, explain every step before we take it, and provide a calm environment with music. Much of dental anxiety eases once you understand what is happening. Tell us before the appointment about any concerns so we can tailor the visit to your comfort.
What if I get pain after a procedure?
Discomfort for 1–3 days is normal and resolves with painkillers (Panadol/Ibuprofen). If pain increases after 3 days or swelling appears: call us immediately. After-hours emergencies: 920035788.

Aftercare & emergencies

What should I avoid after a filling?
Avoid eating for 1 hour after composite filling (it has hardened but safer). Avoid very hard foods and sticky candy for 24 hours. Temperature sensitivity for a week is normal.
When is a case considered an "emergency" requiring immediate visit?
Severe pain unrelieved by painkillers, mouth/face swelling, non-stop bleeding, broken/knocked-out tooth from trauma, abscess (white spot on gum). Call: 920035788.
My child's tooth was knocked out in an accident — what do I do?
Speed is critical (the golden 60 minutes). Hold the tooth by the crown (not root), rinse with water only, place in a cup of milk or child's saliva, come immediately. For permanent teeth we can often save the tooth.
Do I need antibiotics after a procedure?
Only for cases with active infection or abscess, or specific patients (heart conditions, weak immunity). Antibiotics aren't routine after every procedure — unnecessary use harms your immunity.

Doctors & expertise

Are all your doctors board-certified consultants?
All 10 of our consultants are certified by recognized international boards: ABO American for orthodontics (×3), ABE American for endodontics (×1), FRCD Canadian for prosthodontics (×1), KAU faculty (×3), UCLA, UTHSCSA. All credentials verifiable.
How is the right doctor chosen for my case?
At the initial consultation, the clinic director evaluates your case, suggests the appropriate specialty, and assigns it to the most suitable consultant based on specialty + similar case history. Complex cases may need consultants from multiple specialties.
Will the same doctor follow me through the entire treatment?
Yes. The consultant who examines you and creates the plan is the same one who treats you. For multi-specialty cases (implants + perio + prostho), a small team of 2–3 consultants coordinate together.

Pregnancy & special conditions

Can I get dental treatment during pregnancy?
Yes, safely in the second trimester (months 4–6) — the best time. First and third trimesters: emergencies only. Regular cleaning is essential because pregnancy increases gum inflammation.
I have diabetes — does it affect dental treatment?
Controlled diabetes (HbA1c under 7) has no effect. Uncontrolled diabetes slows healing and increases infection risk — surgical procedures may need to wait until controlled. Dr. Assaggaf publishes research on this connection.
I take blood thinners — does this prevent dental treatment?
No. But you must inform the doctor of medications (Aspirin, Plavix, Eliquis, Warfarin) before any surgical procedure. Usually we don't stop the medication — but we apply extra hemorrhage control.

Quick answers — common patient questions

How do I find a dentist near me in Jeddah?
AQUA Dent Clinics is on Corniche Road in Ash Shati district, Jeddah — with detailed drive times from 8 main Jeddah neighborhoods (Tahliyah, Al Hamra, Al Salama, Al Zahra, Al Rawdah, North Obhur, South Obhur, Al Bawadi). Most central-Jeddah residents reach AQUA in 5–25 minutes off-peak. See our "Dentist Near Me · Jeddah" page for exact drive times from your specific neighborhood.
Do you perform general anesthesia in-clinic?
No. AQUA Dent Clinics does not perform general anesthesia in-clinic. Cases requiring general anesthesia are coordinated with an appropriately licensed hospital or anesthesia setting. All in-clinic procedures use effective local anesthesia, and for anxious patients we offer calming techniques (extra time, step-by-step explanation, music, parent-present visits for children).
Do you provide CBCT / 3D dental imaging?
Yes. AQUA Dent Clinics has on-site digital imaging including CBCT (3D) scans for: implant planning, microscope-assisted endodontics, complex orthodontic assessment, and pre-surgical evaluation. Imaging is also available for external referrals from other dentists — call ‪920035788‬ or book online.
Do you offer microscope-assisted root canal treatment?
Yes. AQUA has a dedicated endodontic suite with a surgical microscope. Our endodontics consultant is an American Board (ABE) Diplomate and performs complex cases (multi-canal, retreatment, curved canals, apicoectomies) under the microscope — which doubles success rates on difficult cases compared to conventional treatment.
Do you offer clear / invisible braces?
Yes. AQUA Dent Clinics offers Invisalign in both Express (short cases 3–6 months) and Comprehensive (full cases). Assessment is by our 3 American Board of Orthodontics (ABO) Diplomate orthodontists. We also offer clear ceramic braces as a more affordable alternative. Initial assessment determines which option fits your case.
What is your orthodontic retainer remake / replacement fee policy?
The first retainer is included with all our full orthodontic packages. If lost or broken after that: we remake at a reduced rate (300–600 SAR per retainer depending on type — wire vs clear — versus 1,200–2,000 SAR for a new retainer without the discount). To preserve your orthodontic result, we recommend a 6-month follow-up to check retainer fit.
Where can I read patient reviews for AQUA Dent Clinics?
AQUA has a 4.8-star rating from 272 Google reviews. To read all reviews and patient comments: search "AQUA Dent Clinics" on Google Maps for the full review list and patient-uploaded photos. You can also add your own review after your visit — your honest feedback helps future patients choose their care.
Is parking really available and easy to find at AQUA?
Yes. Covered patient parking is available in The Headquarters Business Park basement (same building), validated automatically at AQUA reception. Valet service is also available at the building entrance for an additional fee paid directly to the valet operator. The internal garage has 2,000 spaces — no need to look for street parking.
Why choose Jeddah over Turkey / Istanbul for cosmetic dental treatment?
AQUA Dent in Jeddah offers equivalent quality to Istanbul/Turkey standards with key added benefits: (1) no week-long travel + hotel stay — follow-ups are local and easy, (2) bilingual Arabic/English team with 7 consultants trained at US universities (UCLA, Boston, Florida), (3) easy long-term follow-up for adjustments or warranty work, (4) CBAHI-accredited (Saudi Central Board for Healthcare Accreditation), (5) Jeddah pricing is competitive when you factor in total cost (flights + hotel + treatment).
Do you serve patients from Obhur or North Jeddah?
Yes. While AQUA is on the Jeddah Corniche in Ash Shati, we welcome patients from all Jeddah areas including North and South Obhur. Drive time from North Obhur to AQUA is roughly 15–25 minutes off-peak (Prince Sultan Road → Corniche). For Obhur patients, we recommend evening appointments (after 6:00 PM Sun–Wed) to avoid peak-hour traffic. Garage parking is always available inside the building.
